I'm a mixed bag
I took this week out of working on anything else and ONLY worked on MY film. It has been blissful, allowing myself to not worry about anything except this for a whole week. This is a luxury, I know.
Being buried so deep in it, drawing artwork, rigging puppets, rendering thousands of prelim frames, my mind has been there, and only there, inhabiting my little imagined village of Hywleton. It’s been a fixture, in one form or another, in my head and on paper for the last five years, like a second home I can pop to whenever I like. In Hywleton, it’s 1986, the news isn’t as crazy as it is today, and there are no smartphones, no social media, so I don’t have to think about being irritating to people on the internet. It’s a nice place to be from time to time. Next week, I can get back to being a snippy mofo, obviously, *waves*.
In other news, below are the 14 randomly selected things from my archive from the last 14 days, posted every day in the substack app. I’m a very mixed bag, I know. I really should have stuck to one style for the last 35 years… but I didn’t, so.
Sound on for the first one :)

In further other news, I’ve turned on paid subscriptions, but almost everything will stay un-paywalled. For paid subscribers, there will be an occasional post, early previews of sales of originals and stuff, and, when I finish my film, its premiere! Thank you for reading down to the bottom! Now, back to Hywleton, I have some puppeteering to do.

O primeiro vídeo, com os ratinhos, fez-me sorrir desalmadamente. Que ilustrações e animações incríveis!
Looking forward to the fruition. I’ll never be completely done with the 80s.
